Red Juicy Watermelon

It is summer once again and during this sun stricken season of the year juicy watermelons are quite abundant. This tasty thirst quenching fruit offers beneficial health benefits like;

1. Watermelon is rich in potent carotene antioxidant called lycopene that is found most in red colored fruits. Studies show that lycopene reduces the risk of prostate cancer and heart disease. And watermelon is the only fruit that contains higher concentration of lycopene that any other fresh fruit or vegetable.

2. Rich in B vitamins necessary for energy production. A very good source of vitamin B6 and B1. Studied shows that Vitamin B6 promotes chemicals in the brain that help people cope with anxiety and panic.

3. Not only oranges are rich in vitamin C, watermelons too. It is an excellent source of vitamin C and as well as vitamin A.

4. A good source of potassium. Magnesium and thiamin, which protect our body from many diseases.

5. And lastly, watermelon is a fat free energy booster red fruit.
