Busy Week

This is another busy week for me because I'll be attending a 4-day training on Power System: Load Flow Analysis. That means my whole day will be full of lectures and software hands-on.

Any spare time during the day will be spent to generate my regular reports at office.

Maybe I can visit my blogs in the evening (hopefully!)

See Yah!

Skin Discoloration

My skin at the neck area started to darken, much darker than my brown skin. I was wondering if this is normal during pregnancy. I've searched the web and found out that it is quite normal. This symptom of pregnancy is known as skin discoloration or malesma. This happened because of the increase in production of melanin due to hormonal change.

I also have a dark line below the belly button, also known as linea negra. The line appears from the belly button down to the pubic bone. Melanin production is also responsible for darkening this line in my belly.

It is said that that this skin discoloration will eventually disappear after giving birth, that I hope will be the case because I'm a little bit worried.

GT: Religious? Not Really

Another Thursday today and my 3rd straight entry for Girl Talk, I think I will be able to complete the weekly GTs for this month (hope so..).

GT Topic for today is about 'Spirituality'.

I am a born Roman Catholic, my parents, my siblings are all Catholics. During my childhood days I was active in joining church groups but as I grew up my church activities has lessen and eventually had gone astray, until I got married. From that time until today, together with my husband I went back in attending mass on Sundays again. Sometimes I still missed going to church huh.

But although I am not active on religious act, my Faith in God is intact and nobody can take that away from me. I am always thankful for His Presence, His Blessings, His Graces in my life, in our life.
Therefore, even if I’m not Religious but I love myself Spirituality because I love GOD more than anything in this world.

New Baby Book

I found a book at "Book Sale" yesterday about a complete guide to child care from birth to six years. I'm happy to find this book because it will help me a lot in the preparation of the birth of our first child. And as first time mother I do not know anything about caring a newborn baby, and since I don't have my mom and siblings with me I need to rely on books, internet and advices from friends and office mates for information.

Although the book was published in the 80's the information within are still applicable now a days, though there are few updates that I can easily look it up at the internet.

And what more can I ask for the book says it all, and I was able to get it at the lowest possible price of P20.00 ($0.43).
Great value and great information.

Flowers have spoken to me more than I can tell in written words. They are the hieroglyphics of angels, loved by all men for the beauty of the character, though few can decipher even fragments of their meaning.

Off to Watch Eclipse

Hubby is on day-off today after his graveyard shift last night, so we decided to go on a date this afternoon and watch the Twilight Saga: Eclipse on big screen.

We're in Cagayan de Oro City last weekend and we're supposed to watch the movie there but I decided not to because I have to do my preggy shopping needs since I'm running out of dresses to wear at the office. So instead, we've waited for the movie to be shown here in Iligan City. And finally this week the movie is running at the newly opened cinema inside Gaisano Mall.

Got to go now. It's a date! See yah!

What Do Women Really Wants?

I received this story in my email awhile ago, and I found it very interesting so I thought of sharing this to you.

(To women) Please take time to ponder.....
(To men) Just enjoy the story.......

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom..
The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question was:  What do women really want?

Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man. And to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men, and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer. But the price would be high as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but first he would have to agree to her price.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table, and Arthur's closest friend! Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunch-backed and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc.

He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.. He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden.

But Lancelot, having learnt of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life. And the reservation of the Round Table. Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered.

Arthur's question thus: 'What a woman really wants?'
She said, 'A woman wants to be in charge of her own life.'

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth, and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it was. The neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom. And Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and, Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen was sitting by the bed.

The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened. The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth become her horrible and deformed self only half the time, and be the beautiful maiden the other half.

'Which would you prefer?' She asked him. 'Beautiful during the day .... or at night?'
Lancelot pondered the predicament.
During the day he could have a beautiful woman to show off to his friends,
but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch!
Would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day?
But by night a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous moments with?

(If you are a man reading this...) What would YOUR choice be?
(If you are a woman reading this...) What would YOUR MAN'S choice be?
And Lancelot's choice is given below...
BUT... please make YOUR choice first before you scroll down below... OKAY?

____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ H

Knowing the answer the witch gave to Arthur for his question,
Sir Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.
Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time..
Because, he had
respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.
Now... what is the moral to this story?

The moral is...
1) There is 'witch' in every woman, no matter how beautiful she is !
2) If you don't let a woman have her own way, things are going to get ugly !

So, be careful how you treat a woman and always remember:

Interesting right? Me as a woman I do want to be in-charge of my life and my hubby will forever be my partner.

Lechon Paksiw

I missed food tripping on Friday, busy as usual sorry for that. Today my share is one of the Filipino Favorites, the "Lechon Paksiw". Hubby and I bought 2 kilos of "lechon baboy" and had it cooked. This was our main dish for our 2nd wedding anniversary celebration, together with "grilled panga", pancit, spaghetti and cake. Also don't not forgetting our favorite food "Rice". We had a fun anniversary celebration together with our friends.

Happy Food Tripping!

GT: Me Mentally

Hi everyone another Thursday and I guess you have to congratulate me because I was able to write something for GT for 2 consecutive Thursday, it's an accomplishment for me yippee!

Should I brag my mentally capacity? hmmmm let me see. I was an honor student on my elementary and high school days and a dean's lister on college. As an engineering student I've excelled most of the subjects especially mathematics and EE majors but I definitely sucked in English. I may have passed my English subjects but I'm not good at it. Should I say, I ended up as a frustrated English writer and speaker.

Anyways, Engineering English is acceptable in my line of work because most of our communications are loaded with  technical terms, so there's nothing for me to worry about. And it is not that late to continue learning right? I think I'm straightening up my writing skills though blogging.

Have A Nice Day.

Pubic Bone Pain

I'm on my 4th month of pregnancy and I feel a tingling cracking pain just above my private part. It's not my pre-natal schedule yet, so I popped the question at the famous information provider this era the internet and this is what I got, the pain that I'm feeling is called "pubic bone pain". The said pain is completely normal to pregnant woman.

Accordingly, the pelvis is a ring structure. Progesterone, a hormone made in great quantities in pregnancy has many properties besides thickening the lining of the uterus for implantation. It also relaxes smooth muscle, which helps keep the uterus quiet (non-contracting) as the baby grows. A side effect of this is constipation, because it also relaxes the smooth muscle in the intestinal tract.

Progesterone also relaxes the ligaments between joints. In it's wisdom, the human body seeks to make the passageway (the pelvis) a larger space for the passenger (the baby). The middle of the pubic bone is actually a joint where the left and right pubic bones join together. When this loosens up, this in effect makes the diameter of the pelvis a larger space for the baby to negotiate during labor.

But unfortunately, since the pelvis is a ring, if it opens here, it must pinch there. The sacroiliac joints in your lower back to either side of the midline can hurt when this pubic bone separation happens. Or, alternately, you can just hurt at the pubic joint (the "pubic symphysis"). Diastasis is a word meaning "separation," so pubic symphysis diastasis is the normal effect of progesterone and other unknown forces that open up the pelvic ring a little bit for labor.

I guess there's nothing for me to worry about, the pain will eventually subsides after few days.

Lansium Domesticum

Lansium Domesticum is a species of fruit-bearing tree from family of Meliaceae locally known in the Philippines as lanzones. It's orb-like fruit usually grows in cluster and each round fruit is covered by yellowish, thick, leathery skin. Underneath the skin, the fruit is divided into five or six slices of translucent, juicy flesh. (from wikipedia).

The lanzones fruits in the picture were photographed at Gingoog City. Our group decided to stopped by at the area to buy pasalubong. And lanzones in Gingoog that time are abundant and cheaper compared in Camiguin.

Happy Yellow Monday!

GT: Financially

Wow I can't believe it, I've slacked so much and I hadn't write anything in my blog, what the heck is happening to me. Hmmm let me reason out maybe, lol ..maybe because I'm busy at work (as usual) and I'm preggy and loves to sleep early after work.

Anyway, I'll try my best to be active again in blogging (I have to cross my ten fingers for that).

Okay now what? It's a Thursday and time for Girl Talk. What are girls talking right now... hmmm it's about financial matters. Here's my story...

All our financial needs come from our monthly pay as an employed electrical engineers. My hubby and I work for the sole power transmission company in the Philippines, I am an office-based operations planning engineer while my husband is a substation engineer. I  can proudly say that our monthly pay is more than enough to supply our needs since we are still starting to build our family. I'm currently 4-month pregnant to our first child and trying to save for his/her future.

Also, I have an additional income too coming from my small monkey business handcrafting jewelries. My sister-in-law, a high school teacher in ZC does the sales. I send my items to her and she'll be the one to sell it to her co-teachers.  I'm a trying hard jewelry artisan, and who knows someday I'll gonna own my Jewelry Shop (in my dreams!) lol...
I love my life financially because I was able to help my family in times of trouble, and can now save enough for the rainy days. And oooppss we're saving for our future house/home too.

And by the way I hadn't earn from blogging yet.. hmmmp poor me.. wala ata ko talent sa blogging.. toinkz!
That's it...hope you enjoy my share...
