One of my college classmate created a group for WMSU-EE (Western Mindanao State University Electrical Engineering) on Facebook so that old pals can meet and discuss future reunions after 11 years from graduation. Seventeen (17) of us graduated and at least 15 passed the board exam. Today each and everyone has taken different path and survived in this everyday changing world. Some worked abroad, some left Zamboanga City and worked on other parts of the Philippines just like me and others stayed in our hometown and started their own businesses.
Old times are pleasant memories to reminisce always. Just like today I want to share to you our old days with old pals during college days as engineering students.
Yesterday my husband and I went to my OB for a check-up, I was supposed to start my medication to conceive this month but luckily I got delayed and yesterday it was confirmed that I actually got pregnant. Wow I can't describe the feeling seeing a tiny soul inside my womb, moving in the ultrasound screen. Husband and I are so thankful that finally God heard our prayers. We've prayed and asked for a child and today, we've finally received what we are asking for and I'll promise to take good care of my health so that our child will develop and grow into a healthy baby.
Are you a fan of American Idol? Well, I am a sort of fan when I have time to watch the show. And you know what I love most? the American Idol Special Pizza Advertisement of Greenwich aired in between break, it is so funny and cute that's why.
Two weeks ago, hubby and I had a dinner date (tamad kasi kami magluto.. hehehe) and he chose Greenwich because we wanted to try the new AI Special. We ordered the said pizza, but too bad we're not that satisfied after tasting it, it just don't suit our taste (pang local lang cguro kami, hehe).
I guess this is the most expensive meal that I had that has photo. I had expensive meals before when I was working in Manila too bad I'm not that picture addict yet so I got zero pictures for that.
This is a Belly Buster Meal that my hubby and I ordered at Bigby's. Priced around P300+ or P400+ I forgot the exact amount I should have photographed the menu (hay naku!). Anyway although it's expensive we we're able to save because one belly buster meal is full-packed and more than enough for both of us.
Let's play another ABC on a beautiful Wednesday. My share today is one of my favorite subject in photography i.e. Macro Photography. As a hobbyist, buying a super macro lens is far from my real plan, maybe in my dreams I can buy one, I guess I need to sleep and start dreaming lol, because super macro lens is quite expensive and I can't afford it.
My husband wanted to shoot tiny subjects and since he too can't afford to buy the required lens, he made research and found that we can actually have DIY super macro lens. All we need to have is extension tube. In our case, we purchased 2 extension tubes and attached it with kit lens (18-55mm). Shoot the the subject in manual focus and viola we had this result. (This shot was posted on my Macro Monday entry last week check my photoblog.)
Who will not be angry and stressful, if everyday you're going to pass by in this current road situation here in Iligan City. Just seeing the long line of vehicles waiting, moving like turtle will definitely drive you nuts.
This is my everyday experience since Thursday last week. Yesterday I was stuck almost an hour and will eventually get worse in days to come.
I hope local officials can do something about it. This is so inconvenient to motorist.
Hi everyone! It's another Monday, another first day of work for this week and before doing the rest of my Monday reports, let me share to you one of my favorite refreshing cold drink a mango shake. I want some this early morning to freeze and refresh my mind after passing again on "stupid" government unwanted projects. That is passing on newly destroyed roads and pavements that are still intact and passable. Well anyway this is how politics works here in our country, "Budgets" are being released before elections and putting it on unwanted projects and the rest probably on their own pocket. That is why it is so frustrating to pay taxes. hay naku!
It's a National Holiday today to commemorate the Day of Valour or the Araw ng Kagitingan. I have a wholeday for myself today. Yippeeee!
And before packing my things to go for another photo hunting adventure, I'll post first my Food Trip Friday for today. My share are 2 of the foods that we had on Maundy Thursday since we had to distance ourselves from meat we ordered sizzling squid and grilled tuna belly instead for dinner at Paeng's Resto.
I've joined a Thursday Meme called Girls Talk on February 2010 and too bad I've done only 2 entries. What the heck happened to me? Should I make excuses, alright maybe because I slacked on the previous Thursdays. Sorry dear.
But today after having a very stressful and temper breaking afternoon because of the traffic from work because of some stupid (ooopps sorry for that again) city officials who want to be good people because of the near May 2010 elections, destroyed passable roads and will reconstruct it again for budget purposes, I decided to ease my mind by writing something here. And another factor that pushed me to write for GT today again, after more than a month, because today's topic is about favorite junk food. I simply can't resist it because I'm really a junk food junkie.
And my fave junk food is "Cheetos Crunchy", whenever my hubby and I had our grocery hours, check out our cart and you'll surely find Cheetos Crunchy in it.
I promise to religiously participate GT on the coming Thursdays, crossfingers!
Guess what? Today I was able to edit my Handmade blog layout. Yippeee! that is quite an accomplishment for somebody like me that has no knowledge about HTML.
I did a simple blog makeover for Janz Crystalz using template from Our Blogger Templates that I have downloaded earlier. I pasted my existing template codes to MS Word and the new template codes on another sheet then compared how their codes were written. I followed it from top to bottom and pasted my existing widgets to the new template and did trial previews and after several attempts viola I got a new look for my blog. wink*
I'm giving myself a naughty thumbs up.
Next project, I'll have a makeover for this blog too. I won't be touching my photoblog because it is under Project Makeover by Lady Java.
Do you know that laughter is a very powerful antidote to stress, pain and conflict?
Yep laughter can bring your mind and body back into balance after a long stressful and painful experience. A good laugh can lighten your burdens, diminish pain, boost your energy, strengthen your immune system and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. And best of all it is a priceless medicine, very easy to use, fun and of course it is free.
So friends out there don’t frown because it is more enjoyable and healthy to laugh and laugh.
While shooting landscape scene somewhere in Lambaguhon in Iligan City, this old vehicle passed by. You wouldn't think that it can still run and carry passengers to their destination right? But because everything is so expensive these days, Filipinos made use something old into something very useful.
Because of the El Niño Phenomenon, Mindanao is experiencing long hours of rotation brownout. And when the clock strikes 6pm and you're on schedule, this is your favorite companion a little yello light coming from a candle to lighten the rest of your evening.
