Surprise, Surprise..

It was my MIL’s 70th birthday yesterday, and to surprise her on her birthday hubby and I had ordered a specialty birthday art cake. Since FIL’s birthday was last month and we’re not able to visit him, we decided to make it a couple birthday cake (para hindi magtampo).  A couple sitting on the bench surrounded by flowers or garden will be the primary design of the cake.  And this was the result… cute isn’t it?

We asked the cakeshop in Iligan City to make us a stable cake that can withstand long rough drive, since we had to bring it in Bukidnon. And the best choice is a fondant cake.  As a preventive measure, we’d secured it using two layer styro-box (we had a lot of baggage too).  And after the long drive there was indeed no damage or even scratches on the cake. Weeeh!

Finally, since it was a surprise, we had to assemble it at the back of the car, and brought it inside exactly how it should be.

This is my Food Trip Friday on a Good Friday.

I'll place the badge later. It took me forever just to published this post using only pre-paid smartbro plug-it.  :(
I'm currently in Bukidnon and had no internet connection. :(
