In Quest for Toys

Shopping Bag

Aside from his Fisher Price Learn to Drive toy this another learn to drive toy this time from V-tech is also Xye's favorite.

The V-Tech Learn and Discover Driver or something alike is one of the toys that I've been looking forward to buy for my son but I can't find it in toy stores here in the Iligan City or in Cagayan de Oro City. I found one from Chicco with selling price of P1599.00 ( $37), but according to Xye's father it's expensive. If I've pursued my will to buy it, I could have bought it with closed eyes, lol. but I'm a good wife that listened to hubby's words.. lol

So my quest to search for this type of toys continued. From online to offline I visited all shops selling toys but was unlucky. Until my friend told me that there is a US surplus store in Davao that sells branded toys. I asked him to visit it and he did confirmed that there really is an American surplus store in Davao.

When I got a chance to visit Davao 3 months ago, I brought home with me more or less 20 toys that cost me around P8,000. Imagine, getting very nice and good as new toys at much lower price than brand new ones, I surely will buy them. (Hubby was so shocked seeing me carrying 2 boxes full of toys when he fetched me at the airport)..lol.

With those lot of toys I can set-up my own "kids play center" like the one we see in malls. But we don't have enough space in the apartment. Maybe soon if we're able to build our own house. We're surely allocate one room for all the toys..We wanted our son and his future siblings (hopefully) to experienced the things that hubby and I had not experienced before. crossing fingers praying it will be realized..

So here's the V-Tech Learn and Discover Driver toy that Xye's really love...This toy keeps on reminding him to drive safely but Xye the reckless driver doesn't listen he keeps on turning the wheel with all his might.

More of the toys I've found will be posted soon, one at a time. winks*

Day 1 Challenge - Photo that Makes Me Happy

To start the 30 Day Blog Challenge, the first task was to post a photo that makes me happy. The photo I can think of is this one, taken on December 2007, when hubby and his family went to our Zamboanga City (our hometown) for the "pamanhikan".

After the talks and agreements for the wedding, all of us went to Bolong Beach to unwind and enjoy freeze breezy air.

The kids at the back are my nephews.

The 30 Day Blog Challenge

I read about a 30 Day Blog Challenge from Superkitty's blog and I think it's fun to do it this month of December. So, I decided to take the ride and hoping to complete it by the end of the month, though there are challenges that will be posted on one same day because of other activities offline.

These are the tasks that I needed to complete.

Day 2 20 of my favorite things
Day 3 A photo taken over 10 years ago of you

Day 8 What’s in my handbag/purse
Day 9 Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days

Day 11 Who can’t you live without?
Day 12 If you could wish for anything that would come true, what would you wish for?
Day 13 Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you ever broken a heart?
Day 14 What do you like most about yourself?
Day 15 What do you dislike most about yourself?
Day 16 What do people notice about you?
Day 17 What’s something you wish you could say to someone?
Day 18 Whom do you admire the most?
Day 19 What is your goal in life?
Day 20 What are the 10 most significant events in your life?
Day 21 If you died tomorrow, what’s one thing you’d regret not doing?

I'm crossing my fingers, hope I'll be able to do this... And I do hope you'll come by from time to time to check it out..

Bonifacio Day

Another National Holiday here in the Philippines to commemorate the birth of a National Hero Andres Bonifacio, who was born on November 30, 1863. Today's holiday is called Bonifacio Day or the National Heroes Day.

Unlike other Filipino heroes who's death are more remembered or celebrated than their birth, Andres Bonifacio is the opposite because of historical reason. Unlike Jose Rizal who died in the hands of the enemy, Andres Bonifacio was executed by his compatriots. It was Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo who ordered his execution, because he was considered an enemy of the state after the events at the Tejeros Convention.

My Nieces and Nephews at the Beach

Another overdue post, supposedly shared after our vacation in my hometown Zamboanga City for the Halloween but was not able too because I got busy preparing for my son's party as soon as we returned home.

While at Zamboanga we're able to spend the day at a beach a day after our visit at my parents, grandparents and sister's grave.

We went to Acapulco Beach at the west coast with my brother and his wife and our first cousin with the kids.

Xye had a photo shoot with his cousins

Crying Photos

Miss Raya owner of Colors and Contrasts blog and host of Wednesday White meme, commented on my last post that she never seen Xye cried before. Thus, per request I'm sharing to you how Xye looks when he cries. lol.. These two pictures were taken on July 20, 2011, Xye was at the age of 8 months and 5 days.

And these two were taken on his 1st Birthday (November 15, 2011), when we had his first hair cut. Xye doesn't cry when there are other people around him, but on his first hair cut, at the barbershop he cried out loud that made him vomit all he had taken in that morning.

That's it, as requested those are Xye's crying photos that I have dug up in my archive. lol..

Classmates in the Future

Xye and Ryan (my officemate's son) are both 1 year old and were born just 2 days apart. I have given birth to our little Xye on November 15, 2011 while my officemate's wife on November 17, 2011.

These two little guys will be future classmates. lol

Pictures taken on Ryan's 1st Birthday, we had them seated on small chairs, aren't they cute? As usual our ever shy Xye was serious. lol

Ladies - Get Immunized

The pamphlets that I got at the clinic is quite alarming.

Measles, mumps, german measles and chicken pox can cause serious defects on babies when acquired by mothers during pregnancy, thus it is a must for us ladies who's trying to conceive to get immunization against these diseases. See your doctors and inquire about it.

It's better to be safe that sorry right?

Waste Bin

These are the waste bin in our office, newly painted for the sake of the audit. lol.

Anyway these trash cans are really present in our office not just for the Environmental Audit but as well as our way of promoting "green environment".

Please do always remember to separate your waste into three different categories such as RECYCLABLE, BIODEGRADABLE and RESIDUAL.

Let's keep our environment clean always.

Davao Starbucks Mug

Here's another addition to my collection. A Davao City Starbucks Mug, design with what the city is famous of, the durian fruit.

Xye's Play Area

This how our living room looks like during the day, converted into Xye's play area. The floor we're covered with rubber character rubber so he'll not get hurt whenever he falls when trying to crawl walk or stand on his own. We've placed storage boxes, sofa bed and seats to enclose the space. He's free to roam around and play with his toys of course with an adult supervision always.

Japanese Cherry Blossom by Bath and Body Works is my favorite scent these days . I just love the sweet and mild flowery fragrance it gives off when I spray it, just perfect for my taste.

Also a perfect share for Pink Fridays. Oh the table top mirror is pick too.

At Pulangi HEP

I have dug again in my archive and found this photo taken in August 2011 at Pulangi 4 Hydro Electric Plant in Bukidnon for a coordination meeting and orientation.

Pulangi 4 HEP is one of the biggest electric generating plant in Mindanao located at the Central Mindanao area and it has a rated capacity of 255 MW ( 3 units of 85MW each). I wore brown shirt that time just perfect for Thursday Brownies right.?
