We thought that this year will be a better year for us. But on the second month of the year, a tragic event had happened.
On Wednesday noon, hubby called up if it’s possible for us (my son and I) to be in Malaybalay Bukidnon, that afternoon. His father was in comma at the hospital after experiencing another stroke on Monday. We thought my FIL was only waiting for his other son, before surrendering but he still was trying to extend his life, probably waiting for his grandchildren.
I have tried my best to left CDO around 3 to 4PM but because I needed to have the tire changed, at 5PM we weren’t able to leave home yet. Hubby called up and postponed our trip until the following day, considering the road condition and my first time to drive in the long and winding, uphill and downhill road of Bukidnon, it’s really unsafe.
At past 5 also on Wednesday, Papa Boy had succumbed and was taken by our Creator. It turned out that my FIL was waiting for my hubby’s two older brothers who were not in good terms and which FIL had hidden heartaches to ask for forgiveness before giving in.
My FIL left behind a loving wife, 5 children + in-laws and 9 grandchildren. He was a remarkable person who has given his all to his wife and children and was always loved not only by his wife, children, and siblings but as well as his nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
We love you and we miss you Papa Boy.
Although we have experienced darkness and painful loss, we still look forward for a brighter year ahead.
