Finger-licking Chicken Joy

We went to Iligan City last week with main reason, to visit my dentist and have my braces adjusted. I applied for a vacation leave at work because we went there on a Tuesday. I needed a driver then, I'm not in a condition to drive for more than an hour to Iligan City, and Tuesday was the only day hubby is off-duty.

And since we're bringing the car, Xye, his Ate Belle and our househelp Joan went with us (mas marami mas masaya!, hehehe). We left Cagayan de Oro City at 8:30 AM went directly to the dentist then by noon I'm done and ready for lunch.

And because Xye was with us, I chose to have our lunch at the newly opened Jolibee branch in Iligan City, Jolibee Tubod, near were we used to live. As expected we've ordered chicken joy. Can you see how happy the little boy was while licking his finger? (without the chicken) hehehe.. Yep! Chicken joy is his favorite!

When the little one eats, expect a total mess, but who cares, meron naman crew na maglilinis.

Before going, Xye had his first photo pictorial with the "big pinoy bee" at the entrance with Papa Jes.

Peep Toe Sling Back Shoes from CLN

While waiting for my son who was playing at Oh So Playhouse with his Ate, I took time to stroll in some of the boutiques in SM CDO. I wasn't planning to buy anything that time really, but I saw CLN is having a nationwide sale up to 50% off on some items.

I checked out some of the items on sale, and I got hold of a white/silver peep toe sling back shoes that I can wear at work. This 1-inch high-heeled shoes is good enough for me for the time being, I can't withstand more than that because of my growing belly.

This pair of shoes is quite comfortable too, I wanted to get another color but too bad they are not on sale.

The original price was P1299.00 and got it at P649.50, it was quite a steal. But hubby didn't see me wearing them yet, I do not know what his reaction will be since I promised that I will not get another shoes after last time.

But I think he will not say that much because they do look great on my feet. hehehe

Korean Drama Marathon: Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love

Last week I was able to get hold of the complete series of Jang Ok Jung from my fellow Korean drama addict friend Nice. Started watching it on Wednesday and finally finished the 24th episode just last night.

Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love is another Korean drama classic under the historical genre. It is the story of the infamous concubine Jang Hee Bin of Joseon Dynasty. The story tells how King Sook Joon fall in love with her and how deeply love was between them.
Ok Jung portrayed by Kim Tae Hee (also starred in Iris) is a low class woman with a mother who is a slave and a middle class merchant for a father. She was a fashion designer in her era that learned how to sew on her younger days and later on entered the palace as a court lady in the tailor’s chamber.
Ok Jung met Prince Lee Soon (later on King Sook Joon) played by Yoo Ah-In (also starred in Fashion King) coincidentally several times and eventually discovered their love for each other. After receiving the grace of the King she was appointed as Suk Won then later promoted to Hee Bin after giving birth to a prince. But before rising to the top, watch how she experienced hardship and humiliation along the way. With her growing ambition and his love for the King and eagerness to protect his son the Crowned Prince, she later on became the Queen after the dethronement of Queen Inhyeon.

I was hoping the drama will end when she successfully became the Queen, but the story was dragged on until the time Queen Inhyeon was reinstated and Jang Ok Jung was demoted again to Hee Bin. Later, on another concubine Choi Suk Won came in the scene and how easily she plotted against Jang Ok Jung and was pushed to her death by drinking poison. Indeed, the last scene was so touching and I even cried a lot. Because of her love for the King she chose to return in the palace after she was driven away by the King to save her life and died in the King’s arms.

Eventhough how much love the King has for Ok Jung, how much he tried to protect her, the people around will keep on objecting simply because she was from a low class, and low class has no right to be with the noble class and the royalties. And also the politician in that era are full of greed, they do anything just to protect their ill gotten wealth, their power.
I have watched a lot of Korean dramas, and after all these years (char!), I cannot memorize the names of the historical characters (the main reason because I’m not a Korean and it’s so difficult for me to remember Korean names).  After reading some comments, I learned that Jang Ok Jung was that evil concubine in Dong Yi, while in this drama Dong Yi was depicted as the evil concubine Choi Suk Won who plotted the execution of Jang Ok Jung. If only I still have Dong Yi in my hard disk, I would like to watch it again.

Well, no matter how the criticisms are, I still find the drama really entertaining despite the tragic ending.

Jang Ok Jun, Living By Love was aired on April 8 - June 25, 2013 with total of 24 episodes.

Throwback Thursday: Little Siblings

Here I am again sharing another old photo for Throwback Thursday. A photo taken when I was still a little kid with my 1 year older than me brother.

This photo was taken at Zamboanga City Hall. My parents used to work in a government agency with office near the city hall.  I wonder how the area looks like nowadays?

I also hope to take the same photo with my brother on the same spot in the future.

Toy Story Monday: Rocking Horse

I bought this Rocking Horse for only P800.00 in an American surplus warehouse in Davao City two years ago. It was his Ninong Jefer who struggled with the bunch of shoppers to look for this toy. Luckily he was able to grab it before anyone else. Agawan ang show sa ukay-ukay!

And because it is a used item, expect minimal defects.  For this find, the neck part of the horse was broken. Hubby is a jack of all trade he can fix anything if he wishes to, so since I already bought this toy he have no choice but to fix it. And viola! The rocking horse is good as new.

X is not really fond of this horse, the last time we took this out from the box, he doesn't want to ride it. We have no choice but to hide it again.

Last week, hubby took the horse out again, and this time X is all smile riding with his ride on toy.

In Choosing the Right Prom Dress

As early as now, incoming Junior and Senior high school students are already imagining and getting excited on the big night happening at the end of the school year. The chance to shine and look more beautiful than the way they are now and hoping, aiming to become the year’s Prom King and Queen or the Prom’s Prince and Princess.

Whether they go single, as a couple or as a group, prom night is really one of the most anticipated events in a teen’s life.

Girls are getting excited in choosing from wide range of prom dresses like those beautiful prom dresses in Terry Costa that will surely make them look stunning during the night. But shopping for the right one is not an easy task, there are things that should be considered in choosing the perfect dress for a prom. And here’s some some of them;

The Budget. Few months before big day you should start searching for prom dresses and ideas that are within your budget. You can check out for some stunning and latest trend prom night dresses. When you finally have your choice check it out from time to time who knows it will be put on sale, and will really save you much.

The Style and Color.  Decide what you want to look like in a prom. Do you want to look like a princess or a modern and chic young lady? For a fairytale effect you can choose a full length ball gown, and if the latter you can have a shorter figure-fitting dress like those found in Terry Costa. The color should also be considered in choosing prom dress. You can either have the latest color trend or go for a more neutral like the black, white, silver and gold or nude color, that way you don’t have to consider about the fabric because these neutral colors are compatible to any fabric.

The Comfort. If you are planning to enjoy the prom night by dancing all night, you should consider getting more comfortable dress. Long length dress may tend to get caught on your shoes and will probably trip you off while dancing. Strapless dress might not stay in place or sleeveless dress might pull off.  It is best to get wider straps for sleeveless dress, a structure bodice for a strapless dress or consider a shorter length dress. That way you’ll have more fun without the worrying about the dress or your overall appearance.

Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash and Toner

After sharing my views regarding the HN's shampoo and conditioner, this time I'm sharing my experience with the Human Nature's Nourishing Facial Wash and the Face Toner combined that I've been using for more than two weeks already.

I got the 50ml bottle for the facial wash and was planning to get the 50ml of the face toner too unfortunately the smallest size available is 100ml (no choice).

I'm very hesitant in getting the bigger size because I had a disappointing experience with Hydrating Wash Moringa Extract (also from HN) last year. I bought the 200ml + 100ml hydrating face toner but ended up stopping the usage because of the breakouts that appeared on my face. My skin is not really sensitive, I seldom have pimples but a lot of them appeared after I used the moringa facial wash and the toner. too sad :(...

Anyway, this time around I  picked the Nourishing line with tomato extract. A 100%  natural product intended for normal to sensitive skin.

I wanted my face to feel clean, fresh and free from blemishes specially without having to worry about the harmful chemicals, the Human Nature's Nourishing Facial Wash gave me those.
Ingredients: aqua, decyl glucoside (coconut derived) , sodium lactate (sugarcane derived), sodium gluconate (sugarcane derived), glycerin, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate (coconut derived), dicaprylyl ether (vegetable derived), Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) fruit extract, dehydroxanthan gum, levulinic acid (rice or corn derived), fragrance (natural), farnesol, linool, phytic acid (rice derived), p-anisic acid (anise seed derived).

After more than two weeks of using it, I have not seen even a single pimple on my face. I think I have found the right one. :-)

There are times, I felt like my eyes had been tired and overly exposed to computer after office, so I opted not to wash my face. Because according to the oldies washing your face after a very tiresome work may cause eye damage in the future. I do believe it, so instead of washing, I clean my face using cotton and the Human Nature's Nourishing Face Toner

Ingredients: aqua, glycerin, betaine (sugar beet derived), glyceryl caprylate (coconut oil, palm and glycerine derived), Chamomilla recutita (chamomile) flower/leaf extract, Rosmarinus offinalis (rosemary) extract, Lavandula angustifolia (lavander) extract, Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) extract, all natural fragrance, menthyl lactate (vegetable derived)

After two weeks of using, my skin felt soft, renewed and free from pimples. Also, the black lines around the nose had lighten too. winks*

Overall, the Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash and Face Toner really satisfy my beauty needs. The antioxidant from the tomato extract really helped in repairing my damage skin and leaving it smooth and clean. And the plus factor is, it's 100% free from harmful chemicals. Definitely pregnant safe!

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner (Lush Vanilla)

I have mentioned before that there are beauty products that may contain harmful chemicals and are harmful to not only pregnant women but to human itself.

After reading articles about them, I realized that I really need to stay away from them for the time being or maybe forever and switch to natural products like what Human Nature offers.

I took out every beauty products we have from the shelves, gave them away then replaced with Human Nature products that I got like two weeks ago. I picked up some hair care, skin care, baby care and also home care products for the whole family. I got to try them first before sharing my experiences. So far, the HN Natural Moisturizing Shampoo and HN Moisturizing Natural Conditioner are doing wonders on my hair.

Let's take a look at the ingredients first that I got from Human Nature's website:

Ingrdients: aqua, sodium cocoylisethionate (coconut derived), decylglucoside (coconut derived), sodium lactate(sugarcane derived), sodium gluconate (sugarcane derived), Perseagratissima (avocado) oil, olus (vegetable) oil, Cocosnucifera (coconut) nectar, dicaprylyl ether (vegetable derived), guar gum, levulinic acid (rice or corn derived), xanthan gum, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, fragrance (natural), phytic acid (rice derived), citric acid, anisic acid (anise seed derived)

NaturalMoisturizing Conditioner (100% Natural)

Ingredients: aqua, cetrimonium chloride (from palm/vegetable oil), cetyl alcohol (from coconut), organic Eucheumaspinosum extract, organic Perseaamericana oil, organic Cocosnucifera oil, Rosmarinusofficinalis extract, tocopherol (vitamin E), panthenol (vitamin B5), potassium sorbate (natural preservative), fragrance (natural), citric acid (natural preservative)

Out of the two variants Mandarin Fresh and Lush Vanilla, I picked up the latter. As I've mentioned the shampoo and conditioner combination did great on my hair.

I have not experienced any itch and irritation on the scalp when I use the Lush Vanilla shampoo. I felt like the itchy dandruff had been washed off from my scalp.

But of course, using shampoo alone never came into my mind I am a hair conditioner freak ever since, I can't live without it.

As what HM claims "for beautifully moisturized hair" I have to pair it with the "100% Natural Moisturizing Conditioner" and I also chose the Lush Vanilla variant.

And indeed after using the conditioner, my hair felt soft and manageable even while wet. And after my hair had dried up, it is still so manageable, so soft to touch and full of body. I think I have found the right combination for my hair, although I have to try the other variant next time also.

Human Nature products are 100% free from harmful chemicals, and since it's all natural they are also earth friendly.
