Birthday Wish 2012

My birthday wish for this year is actually the same as what I had wished last year. As stated it was a mission impossible for me, and indeed was impossible because I was not able to purchase a 7D Canon DSLR that I've dreamt of, simply because I really can’t afford it.

And since it’s too expensive, I’ll downgrade my want into a Canon 60D DSLR instead. If I rely only on our monthly income as an employee, I definitely can’t have one , because our regular income were already budgeted to something much more important that gadgets.

My only hope is to be able to earn something from this world called blogging, and hopefully those saved earnings will make me buy this little monster if not this year, maybe next year or the year after. I’m crossing my 10 fingers here… I still have hope. Who knows…

January 25, My Birthday

On January 25, 2012, I turned another year older. I had applied for sick leave because I was not feeling well. I had runny nose, headaches, and sore throat remnants from the sickness I got the day before. But everything went well, after I had some rest and water therapy (I'm afraid to take medicine). By dinner time I was ready to greet my friends who went over to our house for a little birthday celebration.

We've prepared home made pork humba and sotanghon, pork sisig (from Monterey), chopsuey (Paeng's Resto) and lumpia (Lai-Lai Garden), chocolate moist cake (Sweet Cravings). Thanks to Earl, Joven and Nice for bringing in one length chocolate cake roll and 1 layer butterscotch cookies from Goldilocks as birthday present.

As you can see no seafoods were served because until now people in Iligan City are still afraid to eat fish, squid or any other salt water foods, because of typhoon Sendong.

These simple foods that we had on our table had surely nourished us and everyone had a great time. The gang went home after midnight.

Fruit Basket

These are the fruits that we had on our table on New Year's Eve..

We're able to gather 10 kinds of fruits namely; pineapple, pomelo, oranges, green apple, fuji apple, grapes, lemon, pears, mangoes and papaya. Just 2 more and we're able to complete the 12 fruits of New Year but sadly, these what I we've got.

Anyway, I still believe these will still bring us good health and good fortune luck this year 2012.

At a first I thought it was Karylle until I read Jinkee Pacquiao's name written in the cover. I guess this is definitely a work of art, combining human and technology creativeness. Overly photoshoped but still she definitely look gorgeous. No wonder the Filipino Champ's wife is definitely on top of the buzz.

Spending Christmas 2011

We've spent our Christmas at my parents in law's home at Bukidnon, we left on the 24th around 10am and had arrived there together with my SIL and her husband and her son around 6PM.

Hubby's family celebrated Christmas differently, they usually just sleep on the 24th with no noche buena, or gift giving etc., simply sleep the night out like any ordinary day. I was shocked when I spent Christmas for the first time before but eventually had adapted because that is their way of celebrating unlike what we usually had with my family in Zamboanga City.

But their real celebration usually starts on the 25th morning wherein hubby's family will allocate 1 or 2 of their livestock just for the occasion. This time they had prepared 1 whole lechon baboy (roasted pig) and several viands made out of goat's meat. Most of hubby's relatives, cousins, nephews and nieces had joined us for lunch.

So as a gift to the kids, we brought with us one box of Fuji apples.

The box has approximately 80 pieces of apples but we forgot to leave behind even a single piece for new year. So I ended up buying 3 pieces of Fuji Apple alongside with eight nine more fruits for our New Year fruit basket.

First Day of 2012

It's the first day of the year, I never had a chance to attend mass today, because hubby left early for work and will be coming home tomorrow morning. My son's nanny had a vacation and will be returning to us tomorrow morning, so I was left with my little prince the whole day. Though it's a little bit tiring because I always had hubby to assist me everytime Xye's nanny is not around but still I enjoyed our time together. Going after him from time to time and messing up our living room his play area is really something.

Thus, it really is a good day to start the year with our son.

The Funeral

This morning most of us, employees from our department went to attend the funeral of our officemate's wife and 2 children who lost their lives on December 17, 2011 flash flood. An unexpected tragedy that devastated Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City.

So many of our officemates were affected but Mr. Cruz had suffered the most. He lost not only all his belongings and properties but as well as members of his family, his beloved wife and his two children.

All of us wish and pray for him to continue his life together with his 2 remaining children.

Day 17 What’s something you wish you could say to someone?

I wished I could have said these three words "I LOVE YOU" to my mom, dad and elder sister before they passed away. But I wasn't able to, because on the day they died I was not around of near them.

When my mom died in 2007 I was working in Manila, my brother had called me up around 12 midnight to tell be the bad news. I flew to Zamboanga City the following morning, and my mom was already inside the casket.

Same thing with my dad when he passed away in 2009, I was in Iligan City that time, my brother informed me and I arrived home 12 hours after he called me.

My greatest regret also is not seeing my elder sister before she died, I was in Iligan too and she was confined in Zamboanga City for a week. I wasn't able to rush home while she's still alive. I could have talked to her and told her to hang on for her life. But it was too late, I only able to talk to her lifeless body when I arrived by her side.

These are the words I wished I could have said to my loved ones before they left us and joined our Almighty Father. These wishes will only remain wishes and will never come true.

Day 16 What do people notice about you?

People who knows me from before always comment that I have gone from petite to super big. Yep! There's nothing else that they notice about me but my physical appearance. Though it hurts to accept the fact. lol..

Anyway, I'll try to slim down again maybe 3 years from now. I still want to have two more children and after that I will really start losing those fats away. So help me God! winks*

-I'm not really a person who highly thinks about herself. I'm a person who sometimes wants to be alone and hide from someone's else back. I tend to be shy and sometimes do not want to talk to anybody.

-Should I say I'm good in numbers because I'm in engineering field but I'm really poor in English. Thus, I created this blog as a place where I can practice my writing skills, if there is.

-I'm a person who always aspires for the best but takes time to accept the fall.

-An impulsive buyer and materialistic sometimes.

Putting God and my family first before anything else are what I liked about myself. Though I seldom go to church but I know in my heart that I love God and my faith in him will never change.

I'm a person who wants to excel in everything I do, though sometimes it's hard for me to accept things that went wrong but always tries to cope up and adjust.

I'm an impulsive buyer but sometimes refrains from being one after becoming a mom.

Those are some of my qualities I can consider I loved about me.

I consider myself as a very lucky person, because I met a person who is not perfect in anyway but I know who had loved me from the start and will continue to love me until the end.

He is the my first ever boyfriend turned husband after 7 years of relationship + 3 years of married life. Therefore, we've known each other for 10 years already.

Thus I never experienced a broken heart before nor I ever broke another's heart.

I always have a happy heart with me.

Wish Come True

As much as possible I wanted to complete these 30 days blog challenge that I have given myself but I ended up filling in each challenge late. Just like this challenge that is supposed to be for Day 12 but on my counting it is already eight (8) days late.

Anyway better late than never right?

Day 12 is about wishing for something that would come I true.

I've started wishing for something about 3-4 months ago, that is to conceive another child. Since our son is already 1 year an a month old hubby and I wanted to have another addition to our family and God had heard our prayers and had given us another gift.

Yes, I have it confirmed this afternoon by visiting my OB and indeed I am already 5-6 weeks pregnant. Yahooo!

This is our best Christmas Gift ever this year. Thank you so much Lord for hearing our prayers. From this day onward I am taking another journey, a very challenging yet fulfilling journey of being a woman.

Aftermath of Storm Sendong in Iligan City

Northern Mindanao or the Mindanao as a whole is seldom hit by cyclones but today storm Sendong ravaged some parts of Mindanao. Around 2am this morning, December 17, 2011 flash flood had devastated Iligan City.

Thank God that the muddy flood had not reached our area. But I feel badly for others who were greatly affected especially people living at low laying areas near Mandulog and Tubod Rivers.

Properties were greatly damaged, some people were missing and some were found dead.

Here are some of the photos I have taken while passing along Tubod Bridge and Mandulog Bridge on our way to Lugait, Misamis Oriental this afternoon around 12:30PM.

Where'd My Money Go?

Few days from now we'll be bidding goodbye to 2011 and embrace the coming of 2012. And I expected 2012 to be very challenging year for me and my whole family. Transferring from one city to another is one huge undertaking for us, but we don't have choice but to go with the flow because it is our whole office/department will be transferring to the new building constructed at the nearby city.

This year our expenses has gone up to the ceiling, but we're still thankful that both our salaries we're able to cope up.

Big portion of our income goes to our daily needs, my son's milk, food, diapers etc. + yaya + househelp + utility bills. Some had gone to Xye's Chritening and 1st Birthday Parties.

Knowing beforehand that we'll be transferring to Cagayan de Oro City hubby and I had purchased a piece of land in one of the newly developed subdivision near CDO Airport about two years ago. And just this November we were able complete our amortization, a two-year good as cash installment for a 160 sqm corner lot.

Aside from that hubby and I purchased another piece of land at Opol Misamis Oriental, this time a much much bigger lot area (1350sqm) than the other one but paid a lot cheaper, I could say a "good buy".

After acquiring these properties our next project and hopefully will be fulfilled by next year is the construction of our own house at Opol. This time, we really need to seek assistance from Pag-ibig to make this project possible. Because our savings were already used up. We're also placing the 160sqm corner lot at Robinson's Land Fresno Subdivision on SALE, because the amount we'll get from the sale will be used to build our proposed house in Opol.

With the need to earn more, I'm trying my luck in blogging to earn dollars but I'm not that lucky yet because I was able to earn only around $200 yikes!

So hubby and I have to hold on tight with our existing jobs because these are our very source of income.

Memory Lane - Christmas Party 2004

I only learned about Memory Lane Monday today, and since the linky is still open I decided to share my first entry for MLM with theme Christmas Party.

One of the merriest Christmas Party we had in the office was on 2004, it was our whole department's Employees + Family Christmas Party. Every division (4 divisions) prepared their respective presentation, did their best because big prizes were at stakes for the winners.

This was also one of the most prosperous Christmas Party that we had, because every employee definitely received door prizes but only the lucky ones were able to take home the major major prizes.

It really makes me smile reminiscing this Christmas event that took place seven years ago, and I know this will not happen again because some of our colleagues had taken their own way after our used to be mother company was privatized and they were not lucky enough to re-hired by the new management.

P10,000 Worth of Gift Certificates

Yep you read it right, yesterday we went to SM Admin Office in Cagayan de Oro to claim Joy's P10,000 worth of SM gift certificates that she have won on SM Weekly Raffle draw. Joy is my son Xye's "yaya" nanny.

The last time we're in SM I had 8 raffle coupons from my purchases, I asked Joy to write down her name in the coupons and telling her that just in case you'll win Xye will get 50% share of the prize and you'll get the 50% too. She agreed and excitedly wrote all 8 coupons with her name using Xye's cellphone number at home as her contact number since she doesn't have cellphone or any sort of contact with her.

Three weeks ago SM had called her and told her that she won on the week 7 draw. Now the problem is how to claim the prize with her having only 1 valid, her high school ID from previous school year, so instead I asked her to get her birth certificate.

Luckily, SM accepted her birth certificate as proof and she was able to claim the prize. With her P5000 gift certs she was able to use P1400 on her purchases, the remaining 3600 I converted it into cash so that she'll be able to use it on her or her family needs.

Dream for the Future

Day 10 is about our future dream/s. Just like what I have said in my previous post my dream is really to have our own house that we can live in and call our home. To be able to raise our child or children into a good and God fearing person. And for hubby and I to be able to continue in being an effective personnels/employees in our present jobs.

Aside from the Toy Kingdom SALE at SMX in Mall of Asia on December 3-4, 2011, shoes and bags are also on big sale.

Yep! and I brought home with me two shoes. I was supposed to buy shoes for hubby too but he insisted not too because it will be difficult for to carry it from Manila to Iligan City. So I end up buying two pairs for myself, one all-black reebok rubber shoes and a coffee brown girl shoes.

Hopes, Dreams and Plans for Next Year

Day 9 of the challenge is about hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days.

By first quarter of 2012 we're moving to Cagayan de Oro City, because our department/office is transferring there soon, just waiting for the final touches of our new office building and the installation of the equipment, it will be ready to accept 150 employees soon. This is not actually our personal plan but we have no choice but to be there too, because we need to and we need our jobs.

Because of that hubby and I lately made our plans too, to settle in CDO for good. Thus, we hope to be able to build our future home there.

Another hope for next year is to get pregnant and bear another child and I wish it will be a girl this time.

To continue blogging and hope to earn from it. I'm trying to save more or less $1000 because I want to buy a new DSLR camera. But I know the next 365 days is not enough for me to be able generate that amount. hahayz...

So far those are the hopes that I'm hoping for for next year. And hope it will come true...:)

Day 7 Worst Habit

Here goes the slacker me, who skipped a couple of days before placing the day 7. As usual it is better late than never at all right?

Worst habit? Oh yeah, I have to admit one of the reasons I wasn't able to write about the challenge because I cannot think of anything that I consider a bad habit. Maybe I really don't have any or should I say I still need to find it out.

I guess I still need more time to figure this out. Meantime let's just proceed to the next challenge...

Bangus Restaurant

We've spent most of the hours left before going to the airport for our 4am flight the following day at SM Mall of Asia. We actually waited for the mall to close at 11PM and took taxi at around 12 midnight to NAIA terminal 3.

While at MOA Jefer and I want to taste something different, and try having dinner in a restaurant that Iligan City does not have. And we chose "Bangus Specialty Restaurant". It's a little bit expensive but it does taste good.

These are the foods we had, ordered 2 viands and 2 kinds of rice.

I had my braces adjusted a day before our trip, and it hurt a bit to chew from medium to hard foods, thus, I intentionally left these kangkong stems and pork bits untouched.

5S on my Office Space

Finally, my office desk is free from files and loose papers.

Yesterday, I had 5S on my office space, the old printer removed from my desk since its unserviceable already, removed old file folders/binders and placed it inside the cabinet, segregated papers for filing and for recycle. All these were done with the help of our student OJT. Also, I purposely did the clean up because tomorrow we have scheduled IMS external audit, so it's better to remove all unnecessary things that can become "findings".

First Adgitize Payment

Finally, I've learned how Adgitize worked and today they just sent me my first ever payment of $14.27 to directly to my Paypal.

Day 5 - Dream House

This Day 5 Challenge blog post is a little bit late because of my recent trip to Manila. But better late than never do the challenge at all, right?

Day 5 Blog Challenge is about my dream house.

We don't have our own house yet, we had for a while in Zamboanga City (my parents house) that we've renovated in 2008 but was left empty after I got transferred back in Iligan City in 2009. Presently, we're only renting an apartment.

Soon our whole department will be transferring to Cagayan de Oro City. And with that, hubby and I want to build our own house that we can call our home in CDO or near CDO for good in years to come.

We want to build a house similar to the picture below on our newly purchased 1350sqm lot in Igpit, Opol, but hubby and I has not decided yet which design to use.

Soon when we have the initial amount we'll begin building our future home. I'm crossing my fingers and hope this will happen soon.

A Day at the World Bazaar Festival

On Saturday we've boarded the 8AM flight to Manila. Upon arrival Jefer and I went directly to Quiapo specifically at Wellmanson and bought few bead boxes, beads and jewelry components for my next project. Then we had our lunch at Goldilocks Isetan Recto, and left our baggage at the department store, so that we won't be carrying heavy loads because our next destination was Divisoria. We shopped for something inexpensive and went home to my bestfriend's home at Cabuyao, Laguna.

The Next Day was the World Bazaar Day at the Manila World Trade Center. World Bazaar Festival is said to be the grandest bazaar in the country organized for the benefit of ABS-CBN Foundation.

With a P50 entrance fee, we're able to roam around and see a lot of displays from various exhibitors ranging from foods, apparels, accessories to Christmas decors and ornaments.

It was one enjoyable experience for us who lives outside Metro Manila and also it was our first time to visit the Manila World Trade Center that we only get to see and hear on television.

Off to Metro Manila

The reason why I was offline for 3 days is, I was in Metro Manila not really for a Vacation but to buy bead and crystal supplies for my handcrafts plus Shopping Galore.

I was able to get a piso (P1.00) ticket from Cebu Pacific last August 2011 promo and since hubby cannot go with me because he has work I asked my BFF Jefer to come along. We've paid P2,132.48 for round trip tickets for 2 persons with 15kg pre-paid baggage.

By the way have you tried the Web Check-in feature of Cebu Pacific Air? I've tried it and it is really convenient, you don't need to fall in line with the rest of the passengers. You just have to have it confirmed on their fast lane counter and check-in your baggage if there is and viola off to the pre-departure area right away.

I have searched my archive for a specific photo of myself taken sometime in 2001. And this is what I've found (the only photo I had in 2001 that is an e-file, the rest are still in the album), my best-friend's wedding in 2001 and I was the maid of honor.

Cafe Mocha + Torta

Because the right rear tire got flat last night, hubby went to look for a vulcanizing shop to have the tire vulcanized while I went to the spa to do my thing. It took almost an hour before hubby returned and the spa will close anytime, I have no choice but to wait for him in a coffee shop nearby.

I cannot just sit there and not order anything so, I had this last night a very very hot cafe mocha + torta just perfect combination for a cold rainy night.

Hubby arrived just in time I've finished eating. While I had a luxurious coffee break, hubby had drunk 1 cup of kopiko coffee right after we arrived home. lol..

Bonifacio Day

Another National Holiday here in the Philippines to commemorate the birth of a National Hero Andres Bonifacio, who was born on November 30, 1863. Today's holiday is called Bonifacio Day or the National Heroes Day.

Unlike other Filipino heroes who's death are more remembered or celebrated than their birth, Andres Bonifacio is the opposite because of historical reason. Unlike Jose Rizal who died in the hands of the enemy, Andres Bonifacio was executed by his compatriots. It was Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo who ordered his execution, because he was considered an enemy of the state after the events at the Tejeros Convention.

My Nieces and Nephews at the Beach

Another overdue post, supposedly shared after our vacation in my hometown Zamboanga City for the Halloween but was not able too because I got busy preparing for my son's party as soon as we returned home.

While at Zamboanga we're able to spend the day at a beach a day after our visit at my parents, grandparents and sister's grave.

We went to Acapulco Beach at the west coast with my brother and his wife and our first cousin with the kids.

Anyway these trash cans are really present in our office not just for the Environmental Audit but as well as our way of promoting "green environment".

One of our section heads (Sir Steve) has celebrated his birthday yesterday. He ordered a bountiful lunch for the whole division. Since the foods were more than enough for us, colleagues from other division were also invited to the feast.

At Pulangi HEP

I have dug again in my archive and found this photo taken in August 2011 at Pulangi 4 Hydro Electric Plant in Bukidnon for a coordination meeting and orientation.

Pulangi 4 HEP is one of the biggest electric generating plant in Mindanao located at the Central Mindanao area and it has a rated capacity of 255 MW ( 3 units of 85MW each). I wore brown shirt that time just perfect for Thursday Brownies right.?

Fire and Earthquake Drill

While browsing my archive for photos to be be shared on today's color meme "Orange Tuesday" I came across these pictures taken last month when our department had a Fire and Earthquake Emergency Drill.

The activity was conducted in compliance to IMS (Integrated Management System - a management system used by an organization to direct and control an organization with regards to quality, safety and environment) and to educate employees on emergency situations such as earthquake and fire.

Here's some of the photos taken using my mobile phone, while the evacuation and rescue was on going.

Representatives from the City's Bureau of Fire and City's Emergency and Disaster Response Team were present to witness and evaluate the drill.

After the drill evaluation and lectures were conducted, also were given a chance to try using fire extinguishers. Ten (10) persons we're asked to volunteer and I was the only lady to do it with 9 other men. weeeh! exciting.. lol

Because my son's nanny and our household helper had their day-off yesterday and both had texted us just last night that they'll be extending their off hours until this morning, hubby and I had to do the necessary things this morning before going to work. Like hubby cooked our breakfast, while I prepared Xye's bath essentials plus other needed chores before hurrying for work. Thanks to our trusted "yaya" my son's nanny who tried her best to arrived before 7am. Therefore, I don't need to apply for half day leave today. :)

But still I wasn't able to finish my breakfast because it's already 40 minutes before 8AM, hubby and I had to rush for work or else we'll be late and will get red marks on our daily time record, which I don't want to happen because ever since the new management took over our the company, I never experienced late time-in and hope to maintain it. winks*

Anyway, to satisfy my still hungry tummy, I brought with me one pack of two special mammon by Monde that I've bought yesterday at the grocery. I don't how much this one I wasn't able to check our receipt but it does taste good. Taste fresh and yummy without the distinct taste of preservatives.

Sorores Comfy Shoes

I was at SM Cagayan de Oro City last Wednesday, I planned to buy a new pair of footwear that I can use on my son's upcoming birthday party. My mind was set to buy a new wedge from Sketchers that cost around 3k but because of a slight deformities in the shoes I did not buy it, considering the amount of P3,000 I simply can't neglect it.

Too desperate to bring home with me a new pair of shoes, I went to search on other brands that I can consider buying and end up on this new line of comfy shoes from Figlia.

With much lesser price than the wedge I'm eyeing to buy, (bought this one around P1100 therefore I had a P2000 saving) instead of buying one I bought another pair too that I'll be sharing next week.

Strawberry Shortcake

Two weeks ago I attended a kiddie party of an eight year old girl Cran Jae Berry daughter and the only child of my office mate Joy.

The theme was "Strawberry Shortcake". Honestly, I wondered who strawberry shortcake was, I hit the google's search button and had finally come to know this cute character that was originally used since 1977 on greeting cards and later on expanded to dolls, posters and other products. Over the years many related products were produced including tv series and video games, and over these years Strawberry Shortcake characters also has undergone makeover.

My N86 is Still Alive

I thought I'll be saying goodbye forever to my Nokia N86 cellphone after my son accidentally knocked it off from the table and fell in the "talapia-full" fishpond in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur yesterday noon, when we stopped by for lunch.

Luckily, there is another layer of bamboo submerged in the water where my cellphone had landed instead of going deep into the muddy water. My cp had drowned for about 3 minutes, I wasn't able to pick it up right away because I'm holding Xye at the moment, I had no choice but to wait for my son's yaya to return and asked her to pick it up from the water.

Hubby opened it up after we arrived home last night and had dried it using hair blower. And viola! My ever beloved phone that my half-bother had given me is still alive and very functional. Thank goodness!

In case you'll experience the same remember this "DO NOT SWITCH ON ANY GADGET AFTER IT HAS SUBMERGED IN THE WATER". Let it dry first before switching it on to save it from severe damaged.

Save More on Groceries

Saturdays or Sundays are our usual grocery days, and yesterday hubby and I went to purchase our needed items/goods for this week.

It's not my thing to go directly on stalls where promos, discounted products are usually placed. But lately after becoming a mother and with so many monthly expenses, I need to learn how to budget and save even on groceries and other necessities.

Looking into these products on promos, I found items that we frequently used at home. And you know what, I actually did save more from them.

Here's some of the basic necessities at home that I got on promo at Gaisano Supermarket;

diapers for my son

I usually buy two brands of diaper and are being used on different time like pampers active during night time while huggies dry during the day. The reasons are, though pampers is a little expensive but it absorbs more at longer hours, perfect on night time while the other one is more economical during the day. What I love about huggies also is their promo just like above, 3 pieces free when you buy a pack of 20, that's one great deal for me.

Training or Fattening?

I wasn't able to blog the past few days because I was on work related training/seminar that started last Monday and will end tomorrow.

This is one of the privilege that our company is giving us. A chance to enhance ourselves and become more effective in our assigned field or functions. And you know what we can get aside from the knowledge, additional pounds or gain weight because on training like this heavy meals are always served with matching morning and afternoon snacks, that's why we call long hours training like this as "fattening session".

Our dabarkads went out to try the latest pizza craze in town. It's known to have full-packed of pizza lovers almost all the time since it opened up, you have to fall in line before you can be seated. That is because it's affordable and thus serves different pizza with all in it's own delicious taste. Thus on one Sunday morning we went there and tried.

These are the two pizzas flavor that we had ordered, sorry but I did really forgot the name. It was my friend who ordered it, I was hungry and came in late that time and had completely forgot to ask what's the name of the pizza that I have eaten. lol..

Annual Physical Examination

Today is our scheduled Annual Physical Examination, one of the yearly privilege that the company I worked in gives to his employees.

The test conducted we're

Complete Blood Count - also known as full blood count is one of the commonly done test in medicine. The normal and abnormal counts of cells in the bloodstream may determine many forms of diseases in the body.

Urinalysis - is a simple test where in urine samples are used to diagnose and screen many diseases. Results of urinalysis can be helpful in diagnosing urinary tract infections, kidney diseases, diabetes, etc.

Fecalysis - also known as stool analysis is done in fecal samples to determine condition of a person's digestive tract, analyze bacterial infection and check for presence of any reducing substances such as sugar, white blood cells, etc.

Chest X-ray, ECG and Eye Examination for employees 39 years old and below we're also done. Lower abdomen we're also conducted to employees with ages 40 and above and papsmear also for women 40 years old and above.

I arrived at the venue before 8am this morning but was not able to complete my test. At least 50 employees we're scheduled for today's test and since I'm a little bit late I have to fall in line with the rest of the employees and had took me more than two hours to have my turn in the blood extraction. Imagine, how hungry I am and how my head aches because I never had my breakfast purposely for the test?

Anyway, at least I'm done with some of the most important test, and since I had to get back to work because of some urgent reports that need to be submitted I had to re-schedule the remaining tests (eye examination, urinalysis and fecalysis) tomorrow.

The picture below is we're the blood sample was extracted.

I wasn't able to collect urine and stool sample yet thus these containers are still empty. I'll do it early tomorrow and I hope to be first on the line.

2 Sets of Demitasse Cups

My friend and her group when to China for an "Equipment Factory Acceptance Test" two weeks ago, and because they we're given time to roam around the city, she was able to find a Starbucks Coffee Shop in the area (which I earnestly asked her too) and bought this first set of China-Guanzhou demitasse cups.

While waiting for their flight back to Manila, Ann was able to buy another set at Hong Kong Airport this time it's a China-HongKong set of demitasse cups.

I was so happy to receive these pasalubongs from her, though I paid for these but the effort she exerted in looking and hand carrying these pieces for me is priceless.

Anyway, what are Demitasse Cups?

Demitasse is a french word that means "half cup". A porcelain cup half the size of a regular mug that can hold 2 to 3 ounces of fluid, usually use to serve espresso. Pronounced as dem-ME-toss

Tambok's Birthday

September 23 was our friend Tambok's Birthday, since in our group he's the only one earning less and have no extra money to celebrate his birthday with us, our group decided to give him a birthday blowout at our favorite resto bar.

But on that same day/night, another group of friends of the birthday celebrant asked him to meet them because they have a little celebration for him. Since, the celebrant was already with us he asked us to change venue and tagged along with him. In return we've brought with us 1 gallon of ube-macapuno ice cream, softdrinks and junk foods. Believing there was a prepared dinner we just brought something for dessert. But unfortunately, there were just few foods prepared and it's not even enough for them.

Anyway to make the story short, the five of us went straight to our 2nd favorite hangout at our apartment and ate Tambok's cute birthday cake and what was left of the 1 gallon ice cream.

It was one different kind of celebration for our group because we usually prepare lots of food in this kind of occasion. But at least we're happy to take snaps on that very night.

It's the first Friday of October and I'm back again in joining Mommy Moments, this time topics are all about us "Mom". For today, we're allowed to share what our hobbies are, so here's mine.

1. Handcrafting Jewelries - I do handmade jewelries, it started as a hobby in 2007 and now I started earning from it. Thanks to my sister-in-law who sells my craft to her co-teachers.

2. Blogging - Blogging become my hobby too, I started doing it with main goal to improve my writing skill, but until now I'm still not good at it.. hahayz..

3. Online Selling - This is my recent craze, it all started after I learned how to shop on ukay-ukays. Seeing those cute, very cheap and branded clothes for babies made me want to share them by selling it to other moms out there you wants decent, fashionable yet very affordable stuffs for their little ones.

4. Korean Drama Marathon - Yes you read it right I love watching K-Dramas, in fact I'm watching "Athena" these days. Thanks to my friend who's also a K-addict for giving downloaded copies.

5. Lastly, I'm a sports-minded born athlete (I supposed), thus I love indulging myself into sports and my favorite is badminton. I make it a point to play twice a week to get back in shape, after gaining too much weight.

These are some of the stuffs I do on my free time, because as a corporate slave I need to dedicated myself first to the corporation, and after that 8 hours, I'm free to do my things.

As much as I'm spending my free time online, checking my FB status, blogging, etc. I thought of earning extra from it. Since I don't earn that much in blogging because I'm such a slacker in updating my blog, joining contest or whatsoever, I ventured in selling stuffs online.

Aside from my handcrafted jewelries, I started selling pre-loved and brand new baby clothes and stuffs too just like these cute baby dress.

I don't usually shop in ukay-ukay before, but after becoming a mom I taught myself to shop for less in ukay-ukays, considering how pricey local clothes sold in malls and department stores are and how babies grew up fast, these clothes are usually used for only a month or two after that it will be stocked inside the closet waiting for a hand-me-down recipient.

Since there are a lot of moms like me out there who wants to dress their babies decently and fashionably without spending much, I thought of sharing and selling my cute ukay finds to them.

After 3 months in this kind of what I call sideline I was able to earn a little from it. Thus, I was able to buy my son's clothes with my profit from being an online seller. :)

I applied online for a Unionbank EON card on August 19, 2011 but because my office is about 16 kilometers away from the city proper, I wasn't able to find time to claim it at the bank. Finally, yesterday I was able to spare few minutes and dropped by at the bank after my appointment with the dentist.

Here's my orange EON card, I wasn't able to change the PIN yet, maybe later I'm not in a hurry to withdraw my funds in paypal because I do not have much fund stored yet.

I guess it will took me sometime before this card will be put into use. It's not that easy to earn from blogging pala..
